Philosophical counseling is a collaborative and conversational activity be tween a trained philosopher and a client in which the client’s life-problems are worked through by identifying, examining, and revising as necessary the operating beliefs, values, and habits of action that inform those problems. All the existing models of philosophical counselling are based on Western philosophical insights like existential ism, logic and Greek thoughts. Though they are relevant universally, they reflect a western way of looking at the problems. Therefore, there is a need felt to introduce an Indian variant . Various ancient Indian text have been highly philosophical, and hold immense potential to serve as a relevant source for acquiring different models for philosophical counselli ng. In this project we will use various inter religious texts to develop philosophical counselling models.
