Four books will be published as part of this series.
1.Sarasvati Jayasri – Volume l
Volume One (SrT Parva) is an important text about the early life of Bhaktisiddhanta SarasvatT. It has about 100 pages and has never been pub lished before. The original text is in Bengali and will now be published in English. SrT Parva explains Bhaktisiddhanta SarasvatT’s early life with his father Bhaktivinoda Thakura and how he has learned under his guidance. It further describes Bhaktisiddhanta SarasvatT’s studies in Cal cutta and his career as an assistant of the King of Tripura till about the year 1900. SrT Parva is a wonderful text based on information given by Bhaktisiddhanta SarasvatTto his disciples who wrote it down. It has been edited by his secretary Sundarananda Vidyavinoda and Bhaktisiddhanta SarasvatT himself.
2.Sarasvati Jayasri – Volume 2
Volume Two (Vaibhava Parva) speaks about the life of Bhaktisiddhanta SarasvatT from 1911 and introduces the preaching and missionary activities of the GauQTya Matha and Mission till 1926. Vaibhava Parva first discusses the life of Bhaktisiddhanta as an ascetic till 1918 when he took sannyasa. Further, it describes the first years of the spreading of the GauQTya Matha in India from 1918 to 1926. This biography is unique, and the information written by his followers is very accurate and written with elegance and precision. Vaibhava Parva was published by the GauQTya Matha in Bengali in 1934 on the occasion of the 60th appearance anniversary of Bhaktisiddhanta SarasvatT. It has never been translated from Bengali into English. This volume has about 300 pages.
3.PhD Thesis by Sambidananda Dasa, 1935
This is a book in English that put Vai$Qavism on the world map at the heart of London. It was a PhD thesis that was delivered by Sambi dananda Dasa to the University of London in June 1935. The book explains the history of Vai$Qavism from the beginning until the Gauc;fiya Matha in 1935. It further explains the relation between Gauc;fiya Vai$Qavism and other Vai$Qava Sampradayas particularly the religious, social and cultural context of that time.
4.Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati- His Life, History and Thought
The academic book on Bhaktisiddhanta SarasvatT’s life written by Dr. Ferdinando Sardella has been published by Oxford University Press (OUP)in New York. It explains the life and spirituality of Bhakti siddhanta SarasvatT in the historical context. This new publication will be an edited version of the original text for publication in India. The book received originally eight positive reviews by international scholars from US, Germany, Italy, Japan, etc.
